Meet Elmore McConnell

Founder, Coach and Creator of the Movement MRI and TNOS

Quick answer

Elmore McConnell is the founder of Atlanta Personal Training, We Train Atlanta and Pain Free EliteRx. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Management from Mississippi State University and brings more than two decades of experience across strength, wellness, sports performance and rehabilitation-support environments.

From Athlete to Coach

Before Elmore became a coach, he was an athlete. His background includes baseball, football, basketball, track and field and cross-country. He competed as an SEC track-and-field athlete and a junior-college All-American.

That multi-sport experience shaped the way he sees the body: not as isolated muscles, but as a connected system that must accelerate, stabilize, absorb force and repeat movement under pressure.

At Mississippi State University, Elmore studied Fitness Management and completed work across recreation, wellness, strength and conditioning and track and field.

Elmore reports experience around more than 23 All-Americans, three NCAA champions, six Olympians and seven professional athletes, including Pierre Browne, Dion Crabbe and Steve Mullings. These figures and names should be supported by records before paid advertising.

  • Strength and conditioning internship supporting Mississippi State sports
  • Intern assistant sprint coach, Mississippi State Track and Field

His rehabilitation-support experience included assisting with therapeutic exercises under clinical direction, helping patients use supportive devices and supporting people with a wide range of physical limitations.

As a fitness professional, he has designed weight-loss, cardiovascular and strength programs for clients with histories that included heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, joint replacements, back and shoulder injuries, disc concerns, fibromyalgia, arthritis and ACL injuries. Work with medical conditions requires clearance, coordination and scope boundaries.

More Than 21 Years of Experience

Elmore describes more than 23,000 hours of work across coaching, wellness, sports performance and rehabilitation-support settings. His experience has ranged from elite athletes and physicians to older adults, amputees, people recovering from serious collisions and clients who lost more than 100 pounds.

That range taught him that the same exercise is not the same intervention for every body. Good coaching requires observation, testing, communication and adjustment.

Why He Created the Movement MRI

Elmore repeatedly saw clients focus only on the place that hurt. A painful knee became a knee-only problem. A sore back became a back-only program. Movement often revealed a wider chain involving foot position, ankle mobility, hip control, trunk strategy, breathing, balance, workload and technique.

He created the Movement MRI as a practical way to organize those observations.

The Movement MRI is not medical imaging. It is a movement and performance assessment that helps the coach identify priorities, modify exercises and create a personal roadmap. It does not replace a physician, physical therapist or diagnostic imaging.

Why He Created TNOS

TNOS stands for the Triphasic Neural Mechanical Optimization System.

It connects three ideas:

  1. Every movement has lowering, stabilizing and producing phases.
  2. The nervous system must learn and coordinate movement; strength alone is not enough.
  3. Setup, range, tempo and load determine where training stress goes.

TNOS turns those ideas into a progression for strength, mobility, balance, tissue control, conditioning and performance.

The Personal Story Behind the Mission

Elmore’s father suffered a fall and hip fracture and never fully recovered. The experience changed how Elmore viewed strength and balance. A fall may look sudden, but vulnerability can develop quietly through declining power, balance, mobility, confidence and activity.

His family history also exposed him to high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, pain, medication burden and loss of independence.

These experiences did not make Elmore anti-medicine. They made him determined to help people use movement, strength, nutrition habits and prevention earlier while coordinating with medical care.

Elmore’s Coaching Message

“Pain does not steal your life overnight. It steals it one movement at a time.”

The answer is not to promise that every pain can be eliminated in seven days. The answer is to begin earlier, assess carefully, build capacity progressively and give people tools to protect their independence.
